Speaker – February 2021 Raphael Joudry

Our speaker Raphael Joudry came to talk to us about hearing therapy. Her talk was based on the studies of French medical researcher doctor Alfred Tomatis in the 1950s who pioneered the use of sound to enhance auditory pathways and improve brain function. His discoveries and clinical applications researched a new field of treatment called sound therapy which brought relief to thousands with tinnitus, chronic ear problems, fatigue, insomnia and learning difficulties. Raphael became involved in sound therapy in aiding her mother to overcome a difficult hearing problem where she was unable to carry on a conversation if there were any other adjacent sounds or talking . Her mother took up the successful treatment of regular “headphone” listening to mainly selected classical music which had been adjusted to provide specific frequencies, harmonics and computer structures, which stir the brain to assist in the full opening of auditory perceptions. Over a long time period her mother overcame her hearing problems and found other enhancements of enriched sleep and concentration issues. Raphael Joudry has formed a company to carry out sound therapy treatment and has written a book on the success that the company has had with tinnitus and general well-being. Judging from the way she was swamped after her talk with members wanting more information and sale of her books at discounted price, she really rang a bell with a great deal of our members .
